Annette Morriss

Annette Morriss was born in St. Louis, Missouri.  She received a BA from Stanford University and an MFA from Yale, regularly shows in NYC and St. Louis, and taught at the Brearley School in NYC and Vassar in Poughkeepsie, NY.  This new work, drawings in charcoal on paper, is propelled by a lifelong interest in geometry.  With nothing but quarter circles and semicircles limited by a set of numbers she creates a parallel world where everything is delineated.  Even the erased lines count.  From trial and error or on purpose, what might have been is seen and contributes to the overall connectedness.  She has a studio in Sharon, CT.
