Rene Prou (attr.), pair of armchairs (in reupholstery)

Highly elegant pair of armchairs displaying sculptural quality; having shaped armrests and front tapering cabriole legs; padded and tufted backrests with curved top edge slightly raised above the corresponding wood frame; padded seat with wood trim. In stained cerused oak. Most likely by Rene Prou (1887-1947).
