Louis Majorelle, important center table (in restoration)

Exquisite and important large center table, part of Study or Library Room designed by Louis Majorelle (1859-1926) for the 1925 Paris exhibition “Exposition des Arts Decoratifs” which launched Art Deco style in France and internationally. In bookmatched macassar ebony and solid mahogany, featuring two sides with exposed shelves decorated with playful marquetry in padouk wood which incorporates mother of pearl inlays, and two opposite sides with one drawer each, fitted with Majorelle in-house cast decorative wrought iron pulls. Carved edges and fluted legs. Stamped.
