Superb vitrine/bookcase most likely designed by Maurice Dufrene (1876-1955). Middle segment having exposed display niche on top of pair of doors enclosing two shelves and a pair of drawers decorated with inlay in ebony, ivory and tulipwood and fitted with round gilt bronze escutcheon pulls (one later). The whole flanked by pair of slightly protruding moulded doors with full height glass fronts enclosing four shelves each and decorated with inlays depicting flowers, flies and butterflies in amboyna, tulipwood, rosewood, ebony, sycamore, mahogany, ivory and mother of pearl. Raised on six short fluted and tapered legs: four in the front, pair in the back. In palisander, doors book-matched. Four keys. Art Deco period.
