Biedermeier period wardrobe

Excellent Biedermeier period parcel ebonized armoire in root of poplar featuring ebonized pediment resting on slightly protruding frieze with ebonized cornice and protruding architrave. Two doors with recessed Gothic semi-arches flanked by ebonized columns having maple capitals, rings and plinths. Slightly protruding base enclosing hidden drawer. Raised on block legs. Beautiful large brass escutcheons depicting laurel leaves, foliage, shells and flowers. This armoire is fine example of neoclassical architecture embodied in furniture – quintessential example of Biedermeier style. Danube Monarchy, most likely Hungary.
