Exquisite pair of Swedish Grace club chairs designed by Axel Einar Hjorth (1888-1959), featuring sculpted panel sides and backs in his signature dark birch; sideways decorated with stylized classical carvings of a rosette within a medallion and two protruding lyre forms and adorned with molded frames all around. Front pair of attractive stylized Modernist paw feet and pair of slanted back legs, with overall klismos form. These chairs are highly recognizable gems, superbly designed and rooted in architectural history.
