Painter and graphic artist, Bela Balla began his studies in 1904-1905 at Nagybánya, Károly Ferenczy, Hungary and continued his education in Munich, Germany with study tours in Florence and Rome, Italy. From 1927 he spent more and more time in Baia Mare, Romania, where he actively participated in the life of the local farm, where he painted and spent his last years. He had many exhibitions in Romania and Hungary during his artistic career. He painted still-life, figural compositions, impressionist and naturalistic landscapes and his works can be found in the National Gallery of Hungary as well as several Hungarian and Romanian public collections.
